My 'wildlife' theme is one I have explored for many years, and have expressed in a variety of mediums, but I find clay is the most satisfying, bringing character and personality to each piece.
I particularly like stoneware crank for its texture and colouration using natural oxides and smoke fire pieces. I also use a smooth stonewareware clay which gives a nice white body and holds oxides well. I recommend to all my customers that any pieces of sculpture should be protected in the winter months from frost.
